Joshua Kessler is a thinker and a maker based in New York City. His toolbox includes photography, video and design to create breakthrough storytelling for brands.
A native of Ohio and the last of six children, Josh began his photography career after graduating from the Rochester Institute of Technology. The next day he hitched a ride with an old friend and drove straight though the night to New York City to begin a year assisting Annie Liebovitz.
From there he honed his photographic skills shooting bands ranging from Insane Clown Posse to Sonic Youth and Blur to Wilco. Celebrity subjects soon followed, including Tilda Swinton, Justin Theroux, Samuel L Jackson, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Patti Smith, to name a few.
Continuing the quest to bring his subjects alive, Josh added video to his bag of tricks. Past corporate clients include Ford Motors, Nokia, Yahoo, Nexxus, Sony, MTV (the cast of the Jersey Shore!), Showtime, Roadrunner Records, Capitol Records, Sony Music (album covers for Foo Fighters and John Mayer) and more.
