Colorado Rocky Mountain School
How do you inform and attract potential new students about a groundbreaking private high school nestled in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado? In our earliest meetings with the school’s leadership, we learned that their students are their most passionate ambassadors.
Thus the conceit for a video was formed: let the kids speak directly to camera and recount the reasons why they love the place. Briefly stated, CRMS takes every aspect of the school experience and uses them as teaching moments, whether in the classroom, workshop or outdoors.
The admissions department uses the video on road shows and online to convey what distinguishes their institution from other schools.
Process and Problem Solving
There are many key moments during the year that epitomize the CRMS experience, from the bi-annual outdoor trips and seasonal sports to a range of academic calendar highlights, all of which would be impossible to capture without being embedded in the school community for the entire year.
The workaround was to use assets from the school’s archive, previous videos and student/faculty generated content, mixed with new footage from our time shooting on campus. The conversations we conducted with the students ultimately drove the narrative.
Additional Content Generated
In addition to the main admissions video, the footage was repurposed to create a shorter version to be used for the yearly annual fund drive.
