More often than not I am involved in a project from the inception, but when the folks at the parenting site Scary Mommy called, they were ready to shoot with script, crew and location in hand. It was a collaboration that led to 2.4 million views.

I am known for my ability to work with people and make them feel comfortable on camera, but in this case it was more about choreography than cajoling. The pre-pro and rehearsal was where the real work took place. Once we had our performance locked it was just a matter of rolling the camera and hitting our cues.

I was fortunate to have been a member of the co-working community of the Made In NY Media Center by IFP in Dumbo. An incubator of talented New Yorkers, most of them business entrepreneurs and founders, the organization needed a content campaign to highlight the offerings of the newly minted Media Center. I took up the challenge. What better way to show off the organization than by highlighting some of the brilliant members in an homage to the classic game show What’s My Line.

Hearst Branded Content was an early adopter of Facebook Live and with that came the opportunity to showcase their analogue properties such as Good Housekeeping.
